U.22 x LA GLITZER : CLEO, ROMANESCO, TAKA

La Glitzer, the favourite collective of your most stylish mates, is back at the club for a night of thrills and ecstasy; the embodiment of all our desires for liberation, this unmissable queer party – perfect for dancing and taking in gripping performances – will take place here behind closed doors. On the music front, Cleo – a key figure in the BØX collective and a fan of the most cunty beats on the SoundCloud scene – is doing us the honour of joining us for an extended two-hour set. A DJ and madcap performer who criss-crosses Europe, playing at the most artistically and politically committed parties, it’s now Marseille’s turn to give her the welcome she deserves. Taka, from the Filles de la Soeur collective, will lay the foundations with Progressive House, Trance and 90s vocals to set the groove for this night of passion, whilst our favourite Romanesco returns to unroll the cables and serve up gems of Techno and Deep Trance for a closing set laced with Acid and psychedelic sounds. Finally, the performances – the ones that electrify the club and take over the dancefloor, sweeping the ground from beneath our feet – will be delivered by Zhayiia, a contortionist, poet and dancer from the Métamorphoses Queer collective and the Venus Noire troupe, as well as Atharan, for a spellbinding and liberating dance performance. Friends, comrades, don’t miss this end-of-month event. —————— TAKA A fan of acid house and progressive, Taka crafts groovy sets that evoke the legacy of the 90s, reimagined through acid synths, raw percussion and trancy pads. Disco is never far away either. As one of the co-founders of the Marseille-Grenoble collective Les Filles de la Sœur, she performs in clubs, on the radio and in other venues, always seeking the right vibe. CLEO A multidisciplinary artist, CLEO navigates the intersection of sound and movement, drawing on their training in classical and contemporary dance as well as their roots in the queer nightlife scene. Also a founder of the BØX collective, dedicated to showcasing queer and BIPOC voices, they explore identity and the transcendence of social norms through a quest for self-expression that is at once academic, visceral and embodied. ROMANESCO Co-founder of Basses fréquences and a seasoned event organiser, Romanesco now takes his place behind the decks as a Glitzer resident. Their sets navigate between techno, deep house and trance with an acid-tinged, oily aesthetic, punctuated by touches of psychedelia. PERFORMANCES: ZHAYIIA A creature whose passion lies in bending over backwards without ever bowing to social norms. By turns mystical and sensual, Zhayiia possesses a fierce gentleness. As she contorts her body, she draws you into a world where contortion, dance, poetry and cabaret converge. ATHARAN Through the mediums of performance and immersive installations, they explore sensuality in its political and spiritual dimensions. The body becomes a medium for questioning and a return to life. Through an organic and spellbinding choreographic language, ATHARAN engages the senses, blurs the boundaries between stage and audience, and invites viewers into immersive experiences that awaken both perceptions and consciousness, the visible and the invisible. Their creations explore powerful contemporary themes: environmental impact, multiple identities, desires, primal instincts and the profound connection to one’s being. Each project is conceived as a ritual, a sensory and introspective journey, where the audience is invited to re-experience. —————— TIMETABLE 00:00 – 02:00: TAKA 02:00 – 04:00: CLEO 04:00 – 05:30: ROMANESCO Performances: Contortionist — ZHAYIIA Dance — ATHARAN —————— INFORMATION NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR: please only attend the event if you hold a ticket Unité.22 reserves the right to refuse entry.
