Inaugural Boots Ball : Queer Line Dance & Partner Dancing
Boots Line Dancing organises events to enable the LGBTQIA+ community to come together and learn different styles of American country western dance. Over the past year, we have built this Parisian community, one dance at a time. We’ve taken on challenges as dancers, forged friendships, built support networks and proudly asserted our queer identity. All of this deserves to be celebrated. WE deserve to be celebrated, so let’s celebrate together! Our Wild West frontier is taking over Paris, so make sure you turn up in style! Bring out the sequins, floral prints, leather, lace and your cowboy boots. A fashion inspiration moodboard is available on Instagram @bootslinedancing. Think ‘rococo rodeo’: picture Marie-Antoinette herding a cattle drive through Texas, or beauty queens and rodeo queens swapping the catwalk for motocross in the mud. Come along to dance, watch, try something new, put on a show and feel fully accepted. We’re throwing all heteronormative dance rules in the bin! We dance to feel good in our bodies and welcome all forms of expression. For this Ball, we’ve set aside even more time to dance and celebrate our community: a photo booth will be set up to capture your joy, along with themed drinks and a very special surprise. Classes will be taught in English. Arrive early for partner dancing and a dedicated Two-Step class at 7.30 pm. Several line dance classes will take place throughout the evening – beginners, don’t be shy! – and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to request your favourite tracks. Send all your choreography requests on Instagram to @bootslinedancing. Everyone is welcome at this event centred on queer culture: all genders, sexualities and identities. The safety of our queer community is our
