About Doctor Love

From Mylène’s flat to the big Parisian clubs

It all began in 2007 in a Parisian flat: Mylène, a doctor by profession, would gather her friends there for impromptu parties. The flat soon became too small. In 2008, La LIM was born, moving through a small bar and several venues before settling at Les Planches. Doctor Love (sometimes written as Docteur Love) was created by the same team, who also run Chez Mylène. A travelling party, it takes over large venues such as the T7 at Porte de Versailles, the Phantom in Bercy or the terrace of the Wanderlust on sunny days.

Meticulous set design and a festive atmosphere

Each event centres around a specific theme and a dedicated set design, such as at the Bal en Blanc or the Pride events. Guests get into the spirit of things by dressing up, and the team hands out accessories at the entrance to get you in the mood. The dancefloor attracts a crowd made up predominantly of men aged 18 to 40, with the core audience around 25 years old and very few lesbians, in a festive, flirtatious atmosphere.

Music and practical information

The event takes place one Saturday a month, from 11 pm to 6 am. Early in the night, you’ll dance to slightly remixed party pop, before the sets shift to electro-pop after 2 am or 3 am. Entry is via paid pre-sales on Shotgun; there are no free entry slots. At the door, the cloakroom costs €2 (€4 for a bag) and alcoholic drinks are €12. As the nights are very popular, expect a bit of a queue at the bar.

Our team's take

We were able to explore Doctor Love at its various venues. At the Phantom, you can enjoy moving mirrors on the ceiling, spacious interiors and plenty of easily accessible toilets. At the T7, the club is vast and offers a superb view of the Eiffel Tower, whilst the Wanderlust charms with its open-air setting. Early in the night, people dance to slightly remixed pop, then the music shifts to electro-pop around 2 or 3 am. On the dance floor, you’ll mainly find men aged between 18 and 40, with an average age of around 25, in a festive, flirtatious atmosphere.
