PRIDE PROTOCOLE
In a dystopian future (perhaps not too far off)… For several decades, governments have gradually banned meeting places and venues for celebration, deemed unproductive, uncontrollable and incompatible with established norms. But certain “deviations” refuse to disappear. In spaces sheltered from surveillance, humans, robots and other creatures (of all kinds, shapes, sizes and operating systems) still come together for something as simple as it is subversive: dancing together. To mark this long-awaited Pride, Bendo Club × DCTV are activating the PRIDE Protocol: a hybrid experience where electronic music, video and performance blend to create a space for celebration, freedom and self-expression. Bodies move. Genders blend. Machines dance with humans. The night will navigate between techno, hard trance and hypnotic grooves, from darkness to the first glimmers of hope. Physical music, at times brutal, at times luminous, always focused on movement. Music made by humans, with machines, and for humans and machines. Performances and video installations will form an integral part of the experience: apparitions, disruptions, images of resistance, augmented bodies and strange presences will, as the night unfolds, weave an immersive narrative, straddling reality and fiction. Because, at heart, the protocol is simple: DANCE. BE YOURSELF. BE FREE. The 3 laws of the PRIDE Protocol (applicable to humans and machines) I — Consent is the motherboard. A clear ‘yes’, a ‘no’ respected. Zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination. II — Protect your system and that of others. Stay hydrated, look out for others and ask for help if necessary. No driving after consuming. III — You are free to dance. Move, jump, shout, laugh, love, be. As long as you respect the first two laws. Welcome to the PRIDE Protocol.
