A rapper, poet and activist, Mykki Blanco boldly blends assertive lyrics, pop and hip-hop influences, and an unapologetic celebration of queer culture. Their album *Stay Close to Music*, released in 2022, is proof of this: not only do they unveil their singing voice on it — until then, Mykki Blanco had only rapped on their tracks — but they also collaborate with artists such as Kelsey Lu, Jónsi, ANOHNI and Devendra Banhart. Their music is recognised for bringing to life often under-represented queer narratives: *French Lessons*, for example, highlights the struggles for queer liberation in Georgia. With a powerful message and an even more striking voice, Mykki Blanco’s live performances offer an unforgettable, powerful and resolutely uncompromising experience.
